Welcome to a new year in art!
Well as always, summer always goes way to fast, but its exciting to see everyone again! I love seeing the new faces of 5th graders and getting to know them. And it's fun to see my sixth graders, seeing their new hairstyles, new looks and of course how much they have grown over the summer.
This year, I will be teaching 3 different courses:
5th Grade- Art through out time- classes meet every other day. And we will be covering art beginning in the Middle ages to the Present.
6th Grade Rotation Art- Journey Across Time in Art All 6th grade students will be enrolled in this class. Students will come to this class every forth school day, rotating each day to a different specials class. In this class we will work closely to the Social Studies curriculum, covering art in many of the time periods students will be learning about. Some of those areas will include Ancient Egyptian, China, and Japan.
6th Grade Year Long Art- World Cultural Arts. This is an elective course. Students enrolled in this class will come to class everyday all year long. We will cover a range of cultures including the South Pacific Islands, Russia, Sweeden, Australia, Mexico, just to name a few. We will also expand on some of the countries covered in Rotation Art.
